We often need fosters for adult cats or kittens, mommas and babies, semi-ferals (cats that haven’t known much human affection and are shy but not wild wild) or when cats need somewhere to recover. The cornerstone of any rescue group is the support of volunteers and those who offer to open their home as a foster parent to an animal in need.
Fostering allows cats and kittens to showcase their personalities in home settings. Many cats are quite fearful in caged environments. Foster homes allow these feline friends to develop comfort in home settings and get used to human touch and sounds.
People often ask how long they can expect to have these cats in their care and it really depends on each situation. Once cats are vetted, fixed and healthy they will made available for adoption. Depending on the interest at the time they might be snapped up quickly. We will discuss a possible time frame with fosters as each case if different.
