Getting Started
Marching forward with determination
It all begins with a purpose. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, we highly suggest that you take the risk and begin marching forward with determination.
Getting a not for profit rescue off the ground involves alot of planning, alot of meetings and alot of paperwork. Thankfully our team works really well together and everyone brings with them connections and skill sets that have enabled us to achieve our dream of opening our very own cat and kitten rescue society.
We have all always been “cat enthusiasts” (sounds better than crazy cat ladies…lol). We all have rescued cats for our own pets. (In fact, the cat at the top of this post is my rescue kitty Joey. He is a three year spunky ginger with a ton of personality and charm packed into his frame.) We all have been involved with rescues in various capacities over the last few years. But there were always thoughts of “Gosh I wish I had a rescue of my own”.
Fast forward to 2021, near the end of the pandemic (hopefully) and we decided to just go for it. Other rescues are often overflowing. There is a need. We didn’t open to compete with anyone. We opened because we know that for all the cats and kittens already housed in rescues there are many more still out there. We don’t see our rescue as competition. We see our rescue as complementing the work and mandates of fellow rescue agencies. With all of these agencies working together for the betterment of the lives of cats and kittens it will make a difference. Honestly I don’t think there can be enough places and people who are dedicated to helping animals find loving and caring homes and helping them have food security. I am proud of us for the time and energy we have already put into this endeavor and the commitment to the time and energy it is going to take as we move forward. I am thankful for our families and friends who support our efforts, help us out and champion our cause. Thank you.
We plan to use our blog as a way to document the work we are doing and to share our triumphs and struggles in the world of rescue. Please check back often to read our posts.
Thank you for joining us on this journey. Together we can and will make a difference.
Cheers!
