Kitties! Kitties! Kitties!

Well so much for having time to write a monthly blog…best laid plans!  We had no idea how busy kitten season would be for us. We had no idea just how many kitties would be coming into Happy Tails Cat Rescue after we opened the doors.  In July alone our rescue fixed and vetted 30+ cats and kittens (which is lots of trips to and from Kelowna).  We are so pleased to announce that we have already adopted out over 20 cats including 5 adult cats who are getting their second chance at love and family.  But we still have more still needing to find their purr-fect family.

We have had the chance to welcome four foster families into our rescue and are so grateful for the love and care they provide to the kitties in their care.  They help these cats learn to love and trust and allow their true personalities to emerge.  We are always looking for more foster families.  It is perfect for people who want to have a cat but perhaps life and travel won’t permit a long-term commitment.  Some families choose to foster to allow their children the chance to love and provide empathetic service.  And we won’t lie, saying goodbye can be hard and sad.  But knowing you have helped to save their lives and help them find their fur-ever homes warms the heart.  And typically, we have some new babies that need love and a great start, and you get to begin the journey again.  So, if fostering is something you want to try, we are happy to partner with you on the journey.  We provide everything you need.  You provide time, love, and attention.  Apply on our website if you are interested or if you have questions and want to talk.

We are still seeking more drivers to help us with the trips to our vets.  If you can help out even if it is only occasionally, please contact us.

We are so grateful to everyone for their bottle donations.  We have been busy sorting and returning bottles.  This money goes a long way in supporting the kitties in care by providing food, litter, treats, toys, scratch posts, carriers, etc….  If you have refundables to donate, please connect with us.  If you don’t mind sorting yours and want to donate to our cause, just tell the bottle depot staff before they start ringing you through that you want to credit “Happy Tails Cat Rescue’s Account”.  If you want to drop them off in OK Falls at Shari’s or in Oliver at Kristi’s please feel free to do so anytime.  Pickups can be done too if needed.

We are so thankful to the people and families that support our rescue and share our posts.  An extra big thank you to our fosters! To the families that have adopted from us…..we wish you a lifetime of “Happy Tails Tales” with your new furry friends!
